As a designer, my art is usually influenced by past and recent changes to my environment. Those changes can be something as simple as a new magazine or website I stumble on, or a book I'm currently reading. Thoughts spring forth from all these locations and I'm thrown towards my Post-it's or sketchbook to pencil a new idea or thought down before it escapes me.
They say that once you've graduated and had your first job, that your college experience isn't important to employers. What do "they" know. I soaked up everything (okay, almost everything) that my instructors taught me including tracking time, invoice and proposal structure, dealing with difficult customers (by being difficult to please themselves), and being flexible.
